Use this screen to link reorganizations and base organizations. You can create the links in groups, expediting the process.
Before you can link them, both the reorganization and the organization must already exist in Costpoint.
You can link a reorganization to any number of organizations, and you can link an organization to any number reorganizations. However, you should link a single organization to only one reorganization in a given reorganization structure. Otherwise, reports generated by reorganization could contain duplicate data. When you link reorganizations and organizations, be careful that you do not duplicate organizations inappropriately.
When you generate a report by reorganization, Costpoint includes all accounts connected to the organizations that you linked to the reorganization.
There are two other ways to link reorganizations and organizations in Costpoint. You can:
Use the Link Reorganizations to Orgs subtask of the Manage Reorganization Elements screen.
Use the Link Reorganizations/Organizations screen.
This table window displays a list of all reorganizations. Select the reorganizations that you want to link to organizations. You can use Query to display a more restricted list of reorganizations.
To select a reorganization, click in the blank column at the beginning of the table row for that reorganization. To select more than one, press the CTRL key while you click the blank column for each reorganization row.
This table window displays all organizations. Select the organizations that you want to link to the selected reference numbers. You can use Query to display a more restricted list of organizations.
Click this button to link the selected reorganizations and organizations. After you begin this process, your computer is unavailable to you for other tasks until it is completed. Note that this process can take some time to complete.
This table window displays the links created when you click the Select button. If the process creates a combination that you do not want, select that row and delete it.
