Use this screen to view user-defined labels set up on the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen. You can use the Values field, in conjunction with the labels you already established, to enter employee-specific information. Once established, the tables display the labels that pertain to their data type. For example, the date table displays the date labels assigned to a specific employee.
Before you enter anything on this screen, you must set up:
Labels and validated text for the user-defined fields, on the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen.
Employees, on the Manage Employee Information screen.
Click to find and select the ID of the employee for whom you want to enter data. You must set up the employee on the Manage Employee Information screen before adding the employee here.
This field displays the name of the employee.
This field, which is defined for each row on the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen, displays the data type that determines which category of text is allowed in the Values field. Valid values are:
D — Date. You can enter a date.
N — Number. You can enter a number.
T — Text. You can enter alphanumeric text.
If the Required column is set to Y (Yes), you must specify a setting in the Values field.
This field displays the label that were entered on the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen. You can assign values to the selected employee.
If the Data Type for the selected row is T (Text) and the Validated Text field contains a Y (Yes), enter, or use to select, a text row for this label that was established on the Validated Text subtask of the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen.
If the Data Type T (Text) and the Validated Text field contains an N (No), enter, or use to select, a column from an already existing data table.
If the Required column is Y (Yes), you must specify a setting for one of the Values fields.
If the Data Type is N (Number), enter an employee-specific numeric value based on the label.
If the Required column is Y (Yes), you must specify a setting for one of the Values fields.
If the Data Type is D (Date), enter an employee-specific date based on the label for the selected row.
If the Required column is Y (Yes), you must specify a setting for one of the Values fields.
This field displays the selected column from an existing data table when the Validated Text field is N and the data type for the label is Text in the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen.
This field displays a Y (Yes) if entries for this label are restricted to specific alphanumeric text in the Values column and the Data Type for the label is Text. You can maintain text rows and their descriptions in the Validated Text subtask of the Manage Employee User-Defined Labels screen.
This field displays a Y (Yes) if the user-defined information in the Values column is required.
