Use this subtask to list substitute parts for parts that have been assigned to projects. The substitute part must exist on the Manage Parts screen.
Enter a numeric value, up to three characters, to assign the order of preference of the substitute part for the specified part.
Enter, or use 
to select, the substitute part that can be exchanged for the specified part for the assigned project. The substitute part must already have been entered in the Manage Parts screen. New parts must be added or maintained in the Basic Info screen of the Manage Parts screen.
Enter, or use to select, the revision of the substitute part, if applicable.
If a revision was previously assigned to the substitute part elsewhere in the Manage Parts screens, it displays here.
Select this check box to indicate that this substitute part is completely interchangeable with the specified component. Otherwise, leave this check box blank.
This field displays the description corresponding to the substitute part ID in the Substitute Part field.
Use the Show text entry popup button to view the entire description of the substitute part, if necessary.
This field displays the inventory U/M (unit of measure) assigned to this substitute part.
You established the U/M displayed in this field in the Units of Measure screen of the Manage Parts screen.
This field displays the Make/Buy status assigned to this substitute part in the Basic Info screen of the Manage Parts screen.
B (Buy) indicates a part that is bought from a vendor. M (Make) indicates a part that is manufactured.
Click this button to load all substitute parts for the selected part.
