WORKERS' COMP SUBTASK

Use this subtask to view the detail related to earnings and labor cost amounts summarized by workers' compensation code.

Employee ID

This non-editable field displays the ID of the employee whose record you are viewing. The employee's name displays to the right of this field. These fields default from the header information on the main screen.

Pay Cycle

This non-editable field displays the pay cycle that has been processed for this record. This field defaults from the header information on the main screen.

Pay Cycle End Date

This non-editable field displays the end date of the pay cycle that has been processed for this record. This field defaults from the header information on the main screen.

Type

This non-editable field displays the check type that has been processed for this record. This field defaults from the header information on the main screen. The check types include:

• R — Regular

• B — Bonus

• V — Voided

• W — Represents the positive values of a replacement check

• X — Can be used any time you want to generate a paycheck without first entering a timesheet

Taxable Entity

This non-editable field displays the taxable entity to which the employee is assigned at the time of entry for this record. This field displays from the header information on the main screen.

Table Window

Workers' Comp

This column displays the workers' compensation code from timesheets that were included in the payroll related to this record, if you selected records through . If more than one timesheet is processed with the same workers' compensation code, the timesheets are summarized by Workers' Comp code. After clicking , you can enter additional workers' compensation codes. You can also change existing Workers' Comp codes.

If you are inserting a Z record for an employee, click and enter the workers' compensation code or use to select a code.

Description

The description related to the Workers' Comp code entered is displayed.

State

This column displays the workers' compensation state from timesheets that were included in the payroll related to this Workers' Comp code, if you selected a record through . You can add lines by clicking .

Hours

This column displays the hours from timesheets that were included in the payroll related to this Workers' Comp code if you selected a record through . You can add lines by clicking .

If you are inserting a Z record, enter the hours associated with this Workers' Comp code. This type of entry does not affect the General Ledger. This is a required field.

Labor Amount

The Labor cost associated with the timesheet lines, summarized by Workers' Comp code, is displayed if you selected a record through . You can add lines by clicking . Although this information is displayed for your review, no workers' compensation costs are automatically posted to the General Ledger.

If you are inserting a Z record, enter the labor costs associated with this Workers' Comp code. This type of entry does not affect the General Ledger. This is a required field.

Earnings Amount

The Earnings amount associated with the timesheet lines, summarized by Workers' Comp code, are displayed if you selected a record through . This amount can be different from the labor cost, especially if the employee is a salaried employee and has uncompensated overtime. Costpoint calculates this amount when the payroll is processed. The calculation is similar to that performed the auto-adjust feature on the Manage Timesheets screen. You can add lines by clicking . Although this information is displayed, no worker's compensation costs are posted to the General Ledger.

If you are adding a Z record, enter the earnings amount associated with this Workers' Comp code. This type of entry does not affect the General Ledger. This is a required field.
