Use this screen to set up state and filing status information that is used to control the information that an employee can select through the ESS state withholding elections.
Enter, or click to select, the state code for this record. The state must exist in the Manage State Taxes screen.
This field displays the name of the state.
Select this check box if the state should be stored in the Employee tax table with a None filing status.
Select this check box if an additional amount can be withheld, in addition to the computed amount.
Select this check box if the number of state exemptions claimed must be equal to the number of federal exemptions claimed.
Select this check box if the state filing status must be the same as the federal filing status. If this check box is selected, you can select only the Married or Single filing status in the table. The state/filing status combination must exist in both the Manage State Tax Tables and the Manage State Standard Deductions screens.
Enter the web address that is used for reference for this record. A link to this web address is made available when the employee selects the specified state in the ESS State Withholding module.
Enter text/notes that are displayed when the employee selects the specified state in the ESS State Withholding module.
Enter, or click to select, the filing status that applies to this row. The Lookup results are the same as those that appear for the state in the State Standard Deductions screen. For example:
B — Both
H — Head of Household
M — Married
1 — Misc Status 1
2 — Misc Status 2
3 — Misc Status 3
4 — Misc Status 4
S — Single
The state/filing status combination must exist in both the State Tax Tables and the State Standard Deductions screens.

Select this check box to set the filing status as the default selection of the state in the ESS State Withholding module. You can only select one default filing status.

Enter a value between 0 and 99 in this required field to specify the minimum number of dependents.
Enter a value between 0 and 99 in this required field to specify the maximum number of dependents.
Enter a value between 0 and 99 in this required field to specify the minimum number of credits.
Enter a value between 0 and 99 in this required field to specify the maximum number of credits.
