MANAGE PROJECT APPROVER SETTINGS

Use this screen to identify users who can approve projects on the Manage Project Master Data screen and on the Approve Projects screen.

You need to set up project approvers before you start using the Manage Project Master Data screen. Quick projects cannot be approved by a user until the user has been added as an approver here.

You can add and remove approvers at any time.

Location

Approver ID

Enter, or click to select, a user whom you want to have the ability to approve projects on either the Manage Project Master Data screen or the Approve Quick Projects screen.

Approver Name

After you enter an approver ID, the approver name defaults in this field.

  Changes to this screen update the QPROJ_APPRVR (Quick Project Approver Settings) table.

  What is the difference between approving a quick project on the Manage Project Master Data screen or the Approve Projects screen?

  The same approval processing occurs from either screen.

  On the Manage Project Master Data screen, you open each project individually and approve projects one at a time. You select the Approve Project check box in the Identification block on the Manage Project Master Data screen.

  On the Approve Projects screen, you can select more than one project and approve them all at once by clicking the Approve button. This may save time if you have many projects to approve.

  What does the approval process do?

  After you enter all the information in Manage Project Master Data screen for a project, you must approve the project before you can import it into the permanent Costpoint project tables so that it becomes available on the Manage Project User Flow.

  Approving makes the project ready for importing.

  You import projects on the Import Quick Project Master Data screen.
