ACCESSING YOUR INBOX FROM OUTLOOK

Costpoint/Outlook Issue

In previous Costpoint versions, WFMLIST.EXE, WFMLIST.LNK, or WFMLIST.BAT was attached to the workflow activity email. This gave users access to the Monitor Activities and Messages screen when they double-clicked on the attachment.

However, as a result of increased e-mail security in Outlookรข 2002, and because many office environments no longer permit e-mail attachments with .exe, .lnk, or .bat extensions, Costpoint will no longer send the Workflow attachments.

Instead of double-clicking on the WFMLIST attachment to activate the Activity and Message Inboxes screen, follow one of the suggestions below.

Add a customized Outlook Toolbar button to launch WFMLIST.EXE.

To set up a custom Workflow Outlook toolbar button, follow these steps:

  1. Open an email.

  2. Go to the Tools menu and select Customize to open Customize dialog box.

  3. Click the Commands tab and drag Office Document from the Commands field of the toolbar.

  4. With the Customize dialog box still open, right-click the Office Document icon on the toolbar, and set the Name to Workflow.

To modify the image and display text on the Workflow button, right-click on the Office Document button, then:

  1. Right-click on the Workflow icon, highlight Assign Hyperlink, and select Open.

  2. Click the Browse for File icon.

  3. Set the Files of type field to All Files (*.*).

  4. Locate and select the WFMLIST.EXE file in your CSTPOINT directory.

  5. Click OK to finish adding the hyperlink.

If you need to modify this Custom Workflow Outlook Toolbar button, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the custom Workflow icon and select Customize to open the Customize dialog box.

  2. Click the Workflow icon on the toolbar to enable the Modify Selection button in the Customize dialog box.

  3. Click Modify Selection to make any modifications necessary.

It may be necessary to set up a path to the CSTPOINT directory for the customized Workflow icon to successfully launch the WFMLIST.EXE file. For further assistance in setting up a Custom Outlook Toolbar button, see the Outlook help.
