MASS LINK REFERENCES/ACCOUNTS/ORGANIZATIONS

Use this screen to link reference numbers to account/ organization combinations for use as alternate reporting structures.

Alternative Methods

There are two other ways to link accounts and organizations to reference elements in Costpoint. You can:

If your company has more than 1,000 reference numbers or more than 1,000 account/organization combination, you will not be able to use this screen because there is a limit of 1,000 rows for any table window. If this is the case, use the Link References/Accounts/Organizations screen.

You must first link accounts and organizations before you can link them to reference numbers.

You can apply organizational security to this screen. Use organizational security to grant or deny rights for individual users to view or update information for specific organizations. Reference, Reference Name

This table window displays a list of all reference numbers. Select the reference numbers that you want to link to account/organization combinations.

To select a reference number, click in the blank column at the beginning of the table row for that reference number. To select more than one, press the CTRL key while you click the blank column for each reference number row.

If your company has more than 1,000 reference numbers, only the first 1,000 reference numbers display.

Accounts/Organizations

Account, Organization, Account Name, Organization Name

This table window displays all account/organization combinations. Select the account/organization combinations that you want to link to the selected reference numbers.

To select an account/organization, click in the blank column at the beginning of the table row for that account/organization. To select more than one, press the CTRL key while you click the blank column for each account/organization row.

If your company has more than 1,000 account/organization combinations, only the first 1,000 display.

Selected References/Accounts/Organizations

Click this button to link the selected reference numbers to the selected account/organization combinations. Once you begin this process, your computer is unavailable to you for other tasks. Note that this process can take some time to complete.

Linking reference numbers to account/organization combinations is a time-intensive process. The processing time can be fairly lengthy if you are linking many reference numbers to many account/organization combinations. Also, the Selected References/Accounts/Organizations table window holds 1,000 rows. If the number of reference number/account/organization combinations created reaches 1000, no additional links are created.

Table Window

This table window displays the links created when you click the Select button.  If the process creates a combination that you do not want, select that row and delete it.
