Use this screen to specify whether the Life Event requires approval before being inserted into the Employee Life Events table. You can also use this screen to specify which user flow an employee must go through when the life event is selected in Employee Self Service (ESS) 3.1.
For new records, populate the Life Event field and assign ESS modules by selecting to populate the rows in the ESS User Flow table window. After the screen is populated, save the record.
You can also enter free-form alphanumeric text in this screen that appears as instructions when employees access the Life Event record in the Life Events/New Hires module in ESS.
Set up this screen before implementing ESS' Life Events module. If you specify no life events in this screen, the Life Events module is unavailable in ESS.
Enter, or click to select, the Life Event code that the employee can select in the Life Events/New Hires module in ESS. If you use
all Life Event codes from the Life Events table are available for selection. If you populate this field and a record is already saved in Costpoint (with assigned ESS modules), you receive a message indicating that the record already exists, and to use
to access the record.
The description associated with the selected Life Event displays in the field to the right.
Select this check box to indicate that the record must be approved in the Approve Employee Life Events screen before the life event can be inserted into the Employee Life Events table and before the employee can go through the life event's user flow.
Select this check box to indicate that the Life Event represents a new hire event and a benefit plan's eligibility rules must be used to determine the benefit start date. If you do not select this check box, the benefit start date for any benefits elected as a result of the Life Event is not be subject to the benefit plan's eligibility rules.
Use this text box to enter free-form alphanumeric text that pertains to the Life Event record in this screen. When an employee selects the life event in the Life Events/New Hires module in ESS, the instructions specified here are displayed.
Use this group box to assign ESS modules to the Life Event code by either adding individual lines or clicking the Autoload ESS Module button. Employees whose records are assigned this Life Event code are allowed to change their life event information in ESS if the settings in this screen apply.
Enter, or click to select, the ESS module that you would like to assign to the Life Event code.
This field displays a Y (Yes) or N (No) to indicate whether or not the ESS module is part of the Benefits module in ESS.
Click this button to load all applicable ESS modules in this table window.
