Use organizational security to grant or remove rights for users to view and/or update specific organizations. This is an optional feature that you can turn on or off in the Configure System Settings screen.
Use this screen to set up organizational security profiles and identify the organizations to which a particular profile has access. You can then assign profile IDs to a module using the Manage Organization Security Groups screen.
This screen is the starting point for setting up organizational security. However, you may first want to enable or disable those modules and applications for which you want to apply organizational security using the Activate/Inactivate Organization Security by Module screen.
Use this block to create an organization security profile. Use to create a new record.
Use this field to enter an identification number for this profile. You can assign profile IDs to a module within an organizational security group.
Use this field to enter a descriptive name for this Profile ID.
Select this check box to grant this profile full rights to all organizations.
If you select the Apply Org Security check box, you must specify an organization followed by a relation for that organization (Begins With or Equals) in the Relation drop-down list box in the Assign Organizations to Profile table window.
If you clear this check box, you do not need to enter anything into the Assign Organizations to Profile table window.
Use this group box to select the rights application method you want to apply to this profile ID.
Select this option to display all organizations to which this profile have rights in the Assign Organizations to Profile table window.
Select this option to display all organizations to which this profile do not have rights in the Assign Organizations to Profile table window.
Select this option to display all organizations to which this profile is associated with in the Assign Organizations to Profile table window. This is useful if you want to provide access to most, but not all, branches of a particular organization tree.
Use this table window to assign organization rights to this profile.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, an organization ID you want to assign to this organization profile.
This field displays the descriptive name for this Organization. Alternatively, you can use in this field to select the organization you want to assign to this organization profile, instead of the Organization field.
Use this drop-down list box to select whether the organization you are assigning to a profile begins with the value entered in the column or equals that value. This simplifies the rights assignment interface and makes the creation of the profile table easier. The options are as follows:
Begins With — Select this option to specify a branch or portion of an organization. For example, if you specified organization 1.1, all organizations with 1.1 as their first characters is selected when the organizational security Lookup process is run. These organizations are also known as 'wild cards' because they are not individually listed, but merely assumed to be included.
Equals — Select this option to specify the exact organization ID code.
Use this drop-down list box to assign rights to this organization. The options are as follows:
Full — Select this option to grant full rights for this organization. This option is not available if you selected the Exclusive option in the Rights Application Method group box.
None — Select this option to grant no rights for this organizations. This option is not available if you selected the Inclusive option in the Rights Application Method group box.
