Use this screen to view information on parts, goods, or services in the database. You can enter both the item ID and revision (if multiple revisions are allowed) to view both item information and project item information on the screen.
You can also access this screen in Product Definition, Engineering Change Notices, Inventory, Material Requirements Planning, Purchasing, and Procurement Planning.
Populate any field in this group box to view matching part/project information for that field, and click . For example, if you populate the Description field with C, select the Begins With option in the Item/Desc Match field, and execute the query, all applicable records that have a description beginning with the letter C display in the table window.
To view all items, leave the search criteria blank and click .
Enter, or click to select, a part/item ID for which information is required.
Enter, or click to select, the revision of the item. If you selected the Allow Multiple Revisions For Each Item check box on the Corporate Settings block of the Configure Product Definition Settings screen in Costpoint Product Definition, you can retrieve multiple revisions of the same item. If you did not select the Allow Multiple Revisions For Each Item check box, you can retrieve only the last revision of the item.
This field displays the unit of measure, if you entered an item ID and revision.
Use this drop-down list to select a description for the item. Options include:
Exact Match — Select this option to find an exact match for the value entered.
Begins With — Select this option to find all items that begin with the value entered. This is the default.
Ends With — Select this option to find all items that end with the value entered.
Contains — Select this option to find all items containing the value entered.
For example, if you populate the Description field with C, select the Begins With option in the Item/Desc Match field, and execute the query, all applicable records that have a description beginning with the letter C display in the table window.
Use this drop-down list to select either Make or Buy items. If you leave this field blank, both are selected.
Enter a part/item description.
Use this drop-down list to select the item type or leave blank to choose all types. Valid options are:
Part
Goods
Service
Enter, or click to select, a specific commodity code for which to search. The description of the commodity code selected displays in the unlabeled field to the right.
Enter the national stock number of the selected item, if applicable.
Use this drop-down list to select Active or Inactive items. If you leave this field blank, both active and inactive items are retrieved.
Enter, or click to select, a specific product class. A product classification is a detailed grouping of items within a product type. The product class description displays in the unlabeled field to the right.
Enter the military specification number of the selected item, if applicable.
Enter, or click to select, a planner on which to search.
Enter, or click to select, a specific buyer ID on which to search.
This field displays item ID for the selected items from the search.
This field displays the revision of the item.
This field displays the description of the item.
This field displays the item type:
P — Part
G — Good
S — Service
This field displays the unit of measure of this item.
This field displays whether the item is an M (Make) or B (Buy) item.
This field displays the commodity code associated with the item.
This field displays the product class associated with the item.
This field displays the product type.
This field displays the ID of the buyer associated with the item.
This field displays the planner assigned to the default commodity or overridden on the Manage Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
This field displays Y (Yes) or N (No) depending on whether the status of the item is active.
This field displays the national stock number for the selected item.
This field displays the military specification number for the selected item.
This field displays the item's uniform product code, if applicable.
This column displays the item's Industry Class code, if applicable.
This field displays the selling unit of measure for this item.
This field displays the model number for this item.
This field displays the selling description for this item.
This field displays the last ECN for this item.
